Q. Are you an assisted living community?
A. No. Hertlin House is for independent seniors who are looking for convenient services to make their lives easier, safer and more satisfying. Residents have all the comforts of home plus the peace of mind knowing that in an emergency someone is always there, without the expense of an assisted living community. Hertlin House does not provide or evaluate any personal care directly.

   
 
Q. Is there a buy-in or entry fee?
A. No. There is no expensive buy-in or entrance fee required at Hertlin House. All the services and amenities are provided for a single monthly fee.

Q. What is included in the monthly fee?
A. The monthly fee covers almost your entire cost of living. It includes two meals a day: a relaxed Continental breakfast, plus gourmet, restaurant style dining in the evening, all utilities (except phone and cable), weekly housekeeping and linen service, scheduled transportation, 24 hour security, an emergency response system, interior and exterior maintenance, indoor storage and a wealth of programs and activities. In addition, residents enjoy full use of the many community amenities: fireplace lounge, reading room style library, computer center, theater, arts studio, fitness center, beauty/barber shop, bank services, and more.

Q. Can I bring my car?
A. Of course! Many residents bring their own cars and there is plenty of free parking. In addition, Hertlin House provides limousine and van transportation on a regular basis to doctors' appointments, shopping trips and recreational activities.

Q. Will I Still Have Control of My Life?
A. Absolutely! In fact you actually have more control over your life at Hertlin House than you may have in your current living situation. You aren't giving up a thing and you are gaining a chef, a housekeeper, a chauffer, a maintenance person, gardener and party planner, all here to help assure that you get to spend each day exactly the way you prefer!

Q. Are there age requirements for Hertlin House?
A. As long as you are 55 or older you are welcome to enjoy all that Hertlin House has to offer.

Q. How do I become a resident of Hertlin House?
A. It's easy! Choose an apartment that best suits your lifestyle. A $1,000 deposit will hold an apartment for you for 30 days while you organize for the best move of your life. Our resident services staff will be on-call to help you with your move, as needed.

Q. Are there any financial qualifications?
A. Hertlin House is a private pay community. You will fill out a brief financial summary and, with your permission, we will do a credit check. Our experienced marketing personnel will be able to assist you with any questions about your ability to afford Hertlin House.
